# Perform a Mission

This page walks you through the full lifecycle of a Mission on mobile — from claiming it through completing and closing it.

## Claim a Mission

Claiming means you're taking ownership — telling the team "I'm working on this."

1. Open any board ([Personal, Team, or Ticket](/mobile-app/your-mobile-boards.md))
2. Tap a Mission in the **Open** column
3. Tap **Claim**
4. Enter your [**Personal Code**](/your-organization/people.md#personal-code)
5. The Mission moves to the **Claimed** column with your name on it, and the timer starts

### Photo and video proof

If a question requires [evidence](/missions/how-to-guides/build-a-mission.md#what-you-can-add-to-any-question), the camera opens automatically. Take a photo or record a video (max 30 seconds). You can retake but **cannot upload** from your gallery — it must be captured live. Up to 4 images per question. You can't proceed until all required proof is submitted.

## Close a Mission

When you've completed everything:

1. Tap **Close**
2. Enter your **Personal Code**
3. The Mission moves to the **Closed** column

Depending on the Mission's settings, you may see additional prompts:

* **Rating prompt** — rate the Mission you just completed
* **Minimum Claimed Duration warning** — if you're closing too quickly
* **Claimed Duration alert** — if your completion time was unusually fast or slow
* **Points earned** — displayed on the Mission card

## Rate a completed Mission

If Rating is enabled, you can rate a teammate's closed Mission to evaluate work quality:

1. Open a Mission in the **Closed** column
2. Tap the **Rate** icon
3. Enter your [Personal Code](/your-organization/people.md#personal-code)
4. Select a rating from 1 to 5
5. Submit

The Mission card shows initials of everyone who rated it. Ratings are accepted for the duration set by the admin (6 hours, 12 hours, or until the next occurrence).

## Bounce back a Mission

If you claimed a Mission but can't finish it, return it so someone else can pick it up:

1. Open the claimed Mission
2. Tap **Bounce Back** (requires System Admin or Org Manager role)
3. The Mission returns to the **Open** column — your name is removed

## Geolocation tracking

If your organization has [enabled geolocation tracking](/your-organization/organization-settings.md#modules-management), the app captures your location when you **claim** and **close** a Mission. Location appears in Mission Details as coordinates. You must grant location permission — without it, you can't claim or close Missions.

## Good to know

* Your [**Personal Code**](/your-organization/people.md#personal-code) is required for most actions — it serves as your digital signature
* The **Claimed Timer** starts the moment you enter your code — this affects your performance metrics
* Only **one person** can claim a Mission at a time on a Team Board
* [**Maximum Claimed per Person**](/your-organization/teams.md) limits how many Missions you can have in progress simultaneously (set by your admin)
* If you're on a shared tablet, you can **lock the device** to your account to skip entering your Personal Code for each action
* Missions from a [Process](/processes/what-are-processes.md) show **Trigger Details** (what caused it) and a **Process Trail** (the full workflow chain)
